The number of road accidents in the state of West Bengal in 2018 is 12,700. Road accidents have been the main source of Death, Injury and Damage to the people in West Bengal, over speeding begin
major cause



Safe Drive Safe Life is a programmer initated by government of West Bengal to increase road safety, it was launched in 2016 and gained immense popularity.  The main purpose of this campaign is to ensure Safe Driving, Following traffic rules & Following pedestrian rules. It's main motive to start this campaign is to reduce road accidents and ensure safety, with the population of 9.30 crore and 45 Lakhs living in the city of Kolkata there are people who work hard, going to Work, School, Business, etc. Therefore transportation plays a major role in the state of West Bengal.



Chief Minister Maamata Banerjee has bough positivity in people living in West Bengal by this initiative. People have lack of knowledge about road discipline, Kokata Traffic Police has been working with Schools, Collages ,Social Clubs , Government Organisation, Etc to ensure that people are educated with all the discipline they have to follow while they are using the road.


It's quite interesting how Kokata Traffic Police is implementing " Safe Drive Safe Life ", They used Bollywood posters and replaced hero dialogues with the slogan " Safe Drive Safe Life ".


There is also a registered non- profitable organisation in the year 2009 in the name of Safe Drive Save Life also know as SDSL, certified under 12A and 80G from Income Tax Department. Since the year 2009 SDSL is engaged in road safety in Inida. They have been working with top automobile companies in India like TATA Motors, TVS Honda , Maruthi Suzuki,Etc.
